How we know
Every public internet address belongs to a block that is registered, publicly, to the organisation that runs it. We look up the address your connection is using and read back the company name, its network number and the country of registration. No account, nothing stored.
When the name looks unfamiliar
Providers often sell service under a friendly brand while their network is registered under a parent or technical name. If you are on mobile data, you may see the carrier that actually carries your traffic rather than the brand you pay each month. If you are on a VPN, you will see the VPN company, because that is who the internet is talking to.
"Is my provider the problem?"
A quick way to tell: run a speed test standing next to your router. If it is far below what you pay for even there, the slowdown is on the provider’s side and worth a call. If it is fine by the router and poor elsewhere, it is your Wi-Fi coverage, which you can fix yourself.

How can you tell which provider I use?
Every public address on the internet is registered to the company that owns it. We look up your address in that public registry and show the company name and its network number.
The name shown is not my provider. Why?
Many providers sell service under one brand while the network is registered under a parent or technical company name. On mobile data, you may see the carrier that actually carries the traffic rather than the brand you pay.
Am I on Wi-Fi or mobile data?
If the provider shown is a mobile carrier, you are on mobile data. If it is a cable, fibre or phone company, you are on a fixed connection, usually through your home Wi-Fi.
How do I know if my provider is the reason my internet is slow?
Run a speed test next to your router. If it is far below the speed you pay for even there, the problem is on the provider’s side. If it is fine there and slow elsewhere in the house, it is your Wi-Fi.
